Primal Eating What can the new diet trend?

Primal Eating, like the Paleo diet, focuses on the diet of our ancestors. But what exactly is behind it? And for whom is the concept suitable?

Primal Eating vs. Paleo: What's the difference?

The Paleo diet has been the talk of the town for years.

The idea behind it: We should eat like people in the Stone Age when neither legumes nor dairy products were known. Allowed are mainly vegetables and fruits, meat and eggs, fish and seafood, nuts and seeds.

Primal Eating works on a similar principle. Here, too, we return to the original form of eating. A diet that is supposed to give an answer to our modern diet, in which there are massive amounts of sugar and additives. Instead, natural foods are on the menu in Primal Eating.

The only difference between the diets: In Primal Eating, whose concept, by the way, was brought to life by ex-professional athlete Mark Sisson in the book "The Primal Blueprint", dairy products may be consumed. However, the milk should be as full-fat as possible and ideally come directly from the farm.

Primal Eating: What can I still eat at all?

Proteins have a high value in the Primal Eating concept. They are basically the basis for every dish - whether in the form of high-quality meat, fish, or seafood. Eggs are also allowed, of course. In addition to proteins, there are plenty of vegetables as well as vegetable and animal fats.

Important during the Primal Eating diet: we should always make sure that there are no additives and as little sugar as possible in our food. Carbohydrates are also allowed, at least in small amounts. Unprocessed foods are used. And last but not least: probiotic foods, which support the intestines, are a central pillar of the Primal Eating concept.

How well can I lose weight with the Primal Eating diet?

The Primal Eating diet is great for people who exercise regularly. The high protein content supports muscle building - and these in turn ensure that fat burning in the body is increased. In addition, it is always a good idea to minimize the intake of sugar and artificial additives, because these foods cause cravings. Both increased fat burning and minimizing binge eating ultimately ensure that we lose weight.

We think: Primal Eating is definitely a sensible diet trend, as it provides our body with all the important nutrients through a balanced diet and can help with weight loss in the long term and be a good start for a change in diet.
